Thought I'd revive this hangout seeing as we have a fair amount of new Kiwis and Aussies

 

My personal favorite airport to travel through is Christchurch, it's very broad and easy to get through customs, not to mention you don't have to take a bus to get to another terminal (*cough* auckland) and you can plane spot any where in the main terminal.

i used to love queueing for an hour bc of foreigner passport

Sydney if I've got lounge access, the Qantas First Class lounge is superb.

Otherwise Brisbane has plenty of nice seating options and huge windows to view the aircraft from.
