If you didn't feel even slightly unwell, this wasn't a true indian street vendor. The roadside 'dhabas', informal restaurants that are typically family run, don't charge very much and are typically not great for hygiene are the ones I am talking about. Those are far worse than lcc plane food trust me. You have to be very careful. Anyway, hopefully you get to fly Vistara next time you go to India. If you are going into delhi, consider it. It's worth the extra money.

Maybe - I might just fly direct into Calcutta though - that's where my mom's family is. But maybe then CCU-DEL I'll try them. IDK, it'll be a while before we go on such a long trip again.

The only airline here in the USA that I know of  that still uses the Beechcraft 1900, is Great Lakes Airlines, but I could be wrong there might be more.

IDK about the US, but Air Canada flies them. Air New Zealand does too I think , but living in the US and Canada, Air Canada is probs my best bet.

I've flown B1900s several times with Central Mountain Air here in British Columbia, so that's pretty close to home for you.  Several other airlines in BC fly them too: Pacific Coastal Airlines (Charter/Scheduled), North Cariboo Air (Charter) & Northern Thunderbird Air (Charter/Scheduled) also fly them.

As far as operators in the US, I'm not familiar with any, but I know that Air Georgian (Air Canada Express operator) flies them into several American cities from Toronto such as Syracuse, Rochester, Harrisburg, etc.

EVAS also operates some B1900s in Atlantic Canada, also as an Air Canada Express operator.

Yes - you're right. I totally forgot about CMA NCA and PCA. I'd like to fly on PCA and CMA - they both seem like cool little airlines. PCA also has the Grumman Goose right?

Yes, I like CMA.  I've always had friendly service from them.  Just flew them last month from YVR to YXJ via YXS, but that was in an ex-Hawkair DHC-8-100.

I've never flown PCA, but would love to at some point & yes they still fly the Grumman Goose, but that's only on flights to very remote communities up in the fjords.

Air New Zealand's subsidiary Eagle Airways flew the Beach 1900D until 2016 when the airline was shut down due to "unsustainable operating costs per seat of small aircraft".

oh ok. Seatguru still shows the beech as part of the ANZ fleet which is why I thought they still flew it.

I may not have flown with any of those, but I'm pretty sure they're quite common.
