Until about 15 years ago, Indonesian Air Force had a Public Air Transport Sevice using their C-130. Sometimes they mixed it with logistic transport. Passengers sat on rope seats, sometimes on the floor. It was always surprising to find what you were flying with. Sometimes boxes of sidewinders, sometimes sacks of rice, sometimes a couple of tanks, sometimes a group of cadets.
Once I flew HLP-UPG sitting on the driver seat of a truck inside the Herc's belly.
Sometimes when I'm lucky, dad would be pilotting the big bird and I could sit in the cockpit.
The service is no more since the LCC boom, but honestly, I'd rather fly with those noisy flying lorries than bloody Lion Air.

+1
but I think Hainan Airlines is also common. It's just unknown to foreigners.
Hainan Airlines serve international destinations from Beijing that non of the big three offer (Air China, China Southern, China Eastern)
Like Manchester, Seattle
