I'm really curious, and sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm not sure about how many seats to place on a route......If the research page shows there is a demand, for example, of 200 economy seats, is it best to only make enough flights there to cover 200 seats, or is it better to make MORE flights there than what the demand shows. I know I've been able to place upwards of 400 seats on a route with a demand of only 200, but which is the "more profitable" way to play?

The amount of demand... ?

Why would you offer more seats than is demanded? it's just going to give you empty seats.

For this comment i will use your 400 seat scenario. The demand is 200, but you put 400 seats on the market. 200 seats will fill up(provided they are reasonably priced) and the extra will either take up empty seats wasting your fuel or  be connecting passengers if one of the cities involved is a hub. Connecting passengers only make half as much money as normal passengers so it would not be cost economical to have a plane that is 50% connecting passengers. Also if your hub is not big enough you may not even get 50% connecting passengers, you may still have some empty seats. So it is better to just meet the demand. Going over a little, like say providing 220 seats on a 200 seat demand might be beneficial and make you more money than meeting the exact demand depending on what planes you use and connecting passengers. Hope this helps.

I've just wondered because I've been able to fill all 400 seats on a 200 demand, but I had to lower prices to do it. And I've always wondered exactly how the whole demand system works

Well it sounds like you are wasting you resources. If you close all the extra flights and raise your prices you will make more profit.

Thanks you! That is exactly what I was trying to figure out.
