This is an unofficial poll to determine what the readers of this forum believe to be the best airlines of 2005.

I'm voting for Virgin Atlantic for the following reasons:

1) top notch W (premium economy) class service (with a great champaigne that really hits hard :))
2) Most luxurious looking first class (upper class- if I ever get to fly that, I'll be one happy camper! ;))
3) Best IFE I've ever seen. Ever.
4) AWESOME liveries. Definitely one of the best.
5) Cute/pretty f/a's (and that comes from a girl)
6) Great food.
7) Good service, even on economy class.
8) Boyfriend would kill me if I didn't :P

So Virgin Atlantic for the win!

for sure ,

from a European point of view in my opinion , its really only Virgin Atlantic , Lufthansa and KLM ( / AF ) in the running out of all Airlines in Europe probably , maybe Iberia as well or something.

BA is a great airline , but last year ( 05 ) , i am sure some people will agree they were a little unsteady , not as good as they usually are.

I dunno about the American and other Continents Airlines , but am sure there is just as good ones out there , for last year anyway.

This is not much of a poll. It should have been either US airline or European airline, or add another 20 airlines. I wouldn't vote for any of the ones you have up currently.

I didn't fly once this year apart from flying G-BNKV which is infact a Cessna 152 lol but my vote goes to Virgin Atlantic because I hear problems about lots of airlines last year yet I never hear anything bad from Virgin! + they're improving their interiors now aswel and from what I've heard from everyone I know that has flown on Virgin the service are fantastic!

Southwest Airlines gets my vote (if there was an option) - "For the full year 2005, net income was $548 million"

Very narrow list of Airlines, you left some of the Worlds Top Performers out of this post.

For once I agree with him. I just wrote off AA since they quit serving free alcohol between US and Europe, haven't flown the others this past year.

I would say Delta. Really nice flight attendents on all my flights last year.

I would choose JetBlue though if that were an option.

I chose to put on the largest carriers, which leans towards American ones, and that's all space would allow, but I left WN out because of it being a discount carrier and not full service

BA. The only airline with cabin crew that all have characters, unlike some (not all) Virgin cabin crews. Though Cayman Airways are great!

I flew Northwest about 11 times last year and I must say that the crew members were actually quite nice considering what crappy shape the airline is in. Now believe me, I know NW is not even close to being a contender for the best airline of 2005! lol
Long live NWA!
