You only get 5 one way flights to get around the world from wherever you are now.   :plane:

-They don't have to be real world direct routes

-You are allowed to travel by land or sea between flights

-Each motion has to take you forward in the journey (no dawdling to see all of a country for example)

-You have to end up where you started

When someone asked me this the first time I said :

NYC > Dakar

  :german:

Abidjan > Srinagar

:german:

Delhi > Bali

:titanic:

Sydney > Santiago

:german:

Montevideo > NYC

Rotterdam - Dubai - Sydney - Los Angeles - Rotterdam

(And yes, Rotterdam isn't a major airport, but I live there)  ^_^

I'd like to save up miles until I could do this in a premium cabin :-).

Flight 1: NYC - ZRH on LX (SWISS) A330 Lie Flat Staggered Business Class

Enjoy Switzerland.

Flight 2: ZRH-IST on TK (Turkish) Business/First Class

Explore IST and be sure to spend time using the airport's lounges as the TK IST Clubs are supposed to be some of the world's best.

Flight 3: IST-DXB on TK (Turkish) Business/First Class

Flight 4: DXB - HKG on EK (Emirates) A380 Super Jumbo Business Class lie-flats (with requisite use of the DXB clubs before departure)

Explore HKG

Flight 5: HKG - JFK on CX (Cathay Pacific) 777-300 lie-flats after using their "Wing" lounge in HKG.

(I technically live near WAS so I'd begin and end the trip with a ride WAS-NYP in Acela Express First Class)

For my airline once I did IAD-DEL-LAX-IAD. It would be a check of a trip but it works and it is three flights.

I have a few variations but it's basically this:

AKL-(EK)-DXB-(EY)-LON-(BA)-JFK-(LA/B6)-SCL/EZE/LAX-(NZ/LA)-AKL

LON - Overnight, catching BA1 LCY to JFK via SNN, at 0945GMT, otherwise it's direct from LHR.
