In the real world, if I was running a major global airline, & wanted to purchase both B737-700's & -800's at the same time, do you think Boeing would say no? Or if I wanted to purchase both A320's & A321's, do you think Airbus would say I could only have one type at a time? I don't think so. As long as the plane/s you want are in production, they'll happily sell you anything!

So why in this game can we not do the same thing?

In the game and in real life, aircraft of the same family comes out of the same factory. Almost always, the manufacturer would deliver them to you one at a time. Maybe 737-800 this month, then 737-700 next month, then 737-800 again the month after, and so on.

I think what AE should change is that we become able to buy multiple models of the same aircraft family in one deal. This is so that we can take advantage of discounts provided by ordering in bulk and arrange delivery dates easily. Like, we can negotiate with the manufacturer to deliver a 737-700 every 5 737-800 delivered, or something like that. On top of that we can convert orders let's say from 737-700 to 737-800 after the deal is made (with proper fees and price adjustments of course).

Indeed, also I think some aspects of that are planned for AE4 :P (yup that old avoidance method again ^_^ )

Great, this will improve the gameplay a lot for some of us. Thinking about the discounts, are they considered for ae4? If so what would they be based upon?
