ATLANTA, Mar. 6, 1992. /PRNewswire/ -- SouthJet Air (IATA: SG; NYSE: SJT) announced today that it is seeking a new CEO, as current president Avington Carr feels that the time has come for him to step back to a less active role as CVO. In a letter to employees yesterday, Carr thanked them for their ongoing service and stated that while he has no intention of abandoning the airline that he founded and shepherded to its current stature, he feels the need to pass on the mantle to a new Chief Executive.
SouthJet is therefore inviting applications from professionals with extensive experience and a proven track record managing global low-cost air carriers. In order to avoid conflicts of interest, we shall only consider applicants who do not manage competing airlines.
