Why? I find it very interesting. The detective part is very intriguing.

There are things which I don't like, for example the fact that they make mistakes in animations - flaps not out, gear not out (in El Al 1862), FAKE COCKPITS (damn I hate that they are not using real cockpits like they used to in earlier seasons). But other than that, I think it is a great show for the average viewer with no aviation knowledge. After all, they cater to a very wide audience, not just aviation fans. We are a quite small community...

And I can tell they are using fake cockpits when you look at those thrust levers. Look at the Asiana dramatization and compare it to a real 777 cockpit. Big difference. The fake levers always annoy me...

I watched that episode a few weeks ago, the cockpit was from a A320 series aircraft.

Can't be! Look at the front glass panels of this real A320 cockpit and compare it to the episode mock up. If you pay some attention, you will see that in the episode, the cockpit has 3 panels in the front, and the mock up is light years away from the real one...

They did use real cockpits in the first seasons. Alaska 261, Aeroperu 603, Air Canada 797 etc. But, I have to say, I do find the acting in the season 15 episodes more dramatic, especially in the Quincy collision. That was, for me, by far the most dramatic Mayday episode of all time.

I don't like Seconds From Disaster anymore. The first 3 seasons were good, but then they changed the blueprint-like animations and the countdown clock from season 4 onward. Also, their animations were never their good spot (for example take a look at Comet's textures) but now they are worse (look at Collision and 35000 feet and you'll understand).

Nah, it's just the term I used for "people with a decent amount of knowledge about airplanes and how they work"...

I like Mayday (they call it Air Crash Investigations in my country). It's very educational. I like detective TV shows in general.
