I also dislike MD-11 for some reason. Prefer DC-10 instead. Maybe the winglets make it looks too heavy on the wing.
ugliest planes in your opinion

yes I agree. the md-11s look expectionally awkward especially on takeoffI also dislike MD-11 for some reason. Prefer DC-10 instead. Maybe the winglets make it looks too heavy on the wing.

I can't think of many aircraft that approach the unconventional aesthetics of the PL12 Airtruck:

To me, the 757 looks good. I don't like the looks of the A330 and A340.(You're gonna hate me for saying that)

All tri-jets are ugly for me, none of unconventional barely-flying experimental monstrosities don't come anywhere close. Those with all engines behind like 727, 1011 and Tu-154 just a bit less, especially longer versions, and DC-10/MD-11 with engines on wings and one protruding through its tail is the ugliest flying thing ever. But they are all ugly.
I'm glad their time is mostly over.
I just don't know how can rich people still buy Dassault Falcon tri-jets as a fancy business show-off piece. I like Dassault military design but Falcon is a tri-jet, I mean, why?
A380 is a "fat king", as someone said, powerful but it can't look nice, but 747 will always be the Queen of the skies unconventional and attracts atention, but not remotely ugly...
(and I don't get how can anyone find fast and cool new stuff like A350 and 787 ugly, doesn't make any sense to me ... or hating 757 and 777, they're just what a normal airplane must look like, that's like saying clean water is ugly)

ATR-42 because of the huge hump in the middle of the fuselage.

I personally like the L1011. It seems like the design team actually tried to make the third engine look beautiful. On the other hand, It seems that Douglas just got the tail, and just left the third engine sticking out of the tail

Personally, I don't mind the A380 or any of the modern day widebodies... The MD-11 looks bad, and like others, I'd have to agree the DC-10 looks a little better.
I'd also have to say the 757s without winglets (to me, winglets make them look 10 times better). I don't really like the A310s that much either.

I can't say that I've looked at a single plane and ever thought "That's ugly." Truly the Beluga is quite different and when I see it I marvel at how it can get airborne, but that makes it magic to me. I love the tri-jets. I don't know what it is that is attractive but the look is different from the balance of others that it holds some sort of allure. If anyone out there has an ugly plane they want to get rid of, I would surely take it! Thank you for the pictures of some less common aircraft people have posted ie. skyvan and sky truck. Unconventional beauty. I don't hate it, but to me, it holds a bit less pleasing aesthetics, the 747. Having the second level on a plane is crazy, and wonderful... but it only covers part of the body... eh. It's okay. Seems to work for most people.
Thanks again for all the pictures.

I wouldn't fancy the jets like the A350's and the SU95's..
The A350's nose part and winglets looks quite weird to me.
I don't even know where to start with the SU95.
But I don't understand how you can't love the 757, 767, 777, MD-11, and even the L1011
