Decent countries: Nigeria, Ecuador, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and others.

BAD COUNTRIES: Brunei, Papau New Guinea Pig, Rwanda, Angola, Cambodia, Tahiti, Uruguay, Liberia, North Korea and a bunch of others in Africa. But the hardest one is DEFINETELY USA (jk)

North korea is survivable, and no competition. Taiwan is also good for S1 btw. Thing is, North Korea has some demand. Gaza does not. Neither does West Bank.

Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Kenya are fine and I've actually operated in some of them before. The same with Cambodia, as it has quite a lot of demand to Southeast Asian or Chinese cities.

Taiwan could be good for S1, but keep in mind that you probably can't operate out of TSA and KHH or even RMQ if you can only have one hub at TPE. Plus you can't fly to China, where you lose a lot of routes.

Best: Australia (A lot of routes doesn't get any competition)

Worst: Probably any war torn countries (e.g Syria, Iraq)

I have an Indian airline in Rα and quite surprisingly, it has a quasi-monopoly on domestic routes. I won't be going international until 1980, as I've applied India's 5/20 rule here: http://ae31.airline-...e3ra&player=350

Also, I'm planning to start a new airline at SVO called Trans Russian Airlines (TRA) once Rδ resets.

I am running Fiji Airways realistically as I can while staying profitable. It is tough. If anyone else operates your routes you're basically doomed.

Ouh! yeah. that is a good point. I remember short time ago in Ra world, with a lot of spam airlines at start could be really hard. and continuous route look-out to avoid losses.

Wow, allcaps :P

Terminals are expensive, ya know. Although it's proved much easier than I expected so far...

They reduce on gate costs monthly, and HKG isn't that hard.

Before the whole thread gets off-topic, another hard country I've experienced that is hard to operate out of is New Zealand.

Firstly it's very isolated, like very very isolated, the only big market you can serve with narrowbodies is Australia. Secondly, if you were to serve anywhere else, the demand is there but it's not that high, around 300-400 daily passengers for major cities and 100-200 for secondary cities, which isn't huge. Lastly, if you have a competitor in the domestic market, be prepared to make losses and go on price wars.  ;)
