Hi,

So I want there to be a retrofit option, like say if you have a dc-8 but you don't want to get a 747 and take it off the flights, which takes forever.

This retrofit option will cost a lot (Depending on fleet size) it advances the Avionics, adds winglets and adds TV's(Optional) It's somewhat like what Delta did (i think). Also this resets the age of the plane to, so you don't have to renew your fleet. BUT!!! there is a chance that you can overwork your employees and cause them to go on strike, AND you can't retrofit every aircraft of that specific fleet. EVERY AIRCRAFT IN THE GAME CAN BE RETROFITTED

  • dc-9 and 10
  • 737 Jurrasic
  • 707
  • dc-8
  • 727
  • HS Trident 1C
  • BAC 111
  • The early tupolevs
As you can see only JET'S can be retrofitted please add more if you'd like.
Only jets can be retrofitted. I run a lot of props. Sorry, this won't go down well.

Retrofitting is a good and real thing, but it should not be reserved to certain aircraft. As avionics have no effect in AE, I would suggest that aircraft can be re-engined and/ or have other undisclosed things done to it for a large fee, in return maintenance costs drop (as they would). Plane age stays the same (Ever heard the phrase you can't polish a turd?) and it's available to all sorts of aircraft (Many of the DC 3s operated today today have had work done). As, in AE4, you can perform A, B, C, D and E Checks manually, they would have work done at the next scheduled extensive check. Possibly even a slight effect on rep, because (for argument's sake) a 737-200 in original condition is less appealing to most than one with hush kits and new engines fitted.

Maintenance costs should escalate as manufacturers' support goes obsolete.  I like the idea for all planes (jets and props) so you can run a niche airline flying DC7's long into the future...but it should cost ya.

or you can do an engines change after you buy your plane to it better fit what you need down the track or cause the cost of the engines and down time

Tracking the age or usage hours of cabins and engines would be nifty. That would add the mechanic of refurbishing cabins (even different cabins separately in the same aircraft) to increase its appeal.

What about the aquiring of spaires for the aircraft till the manufacturer drop supply of spaires so then make more realistic
