When would be the most ideal in-game time to expand your fleet and/or destinations? When do you do it?
I usually expand (when ideal) at the beginning of the month, before the 12th of each month at the very latest. This allows for maximum profitability on the new planes and routes due to the amount of time that they'll be running the route before the monthly restart.

At the very beginning. Some airlines will go the length to start already expanded, usually by flying short, low demand routes with 50 pax propeller planes allowing them to become big very quickly.
