Egyptian Holdings, the parent company of Egyptian Airways and Egyptian Xpress, is proud to announce its integration into Aspire Alliance. Announced to be joining on May 8th, 2002, the company will be integrated into the alliance by the end of the year.

 

Egyptian Airways would like to announce the following new additions to its network:

 

Seoul Incheon - 6 weekly (Su M Tu W F Sa) - Egyptian Airways is proud to introduce Seoul as its 77th destination, the fourth destination served by Egyptian Airways in the Far East. The route, served by our brand new fleet of A330-300s, commences on May 20th, 2002.

 

Antananarivo - 2 weekly (F Sa) - The launch of Antananarivo is designed to better connect our hub with that of our interlining partner, Marala Airways. This route is served by a Boeing 757-200, newly outfitted with our Star IFE system. Service to Antananarivo commences on May 24th, 2002.

 

Dar Es Salaam - 4 weekly (M Tu F Sa) - An important African centre for business and tourism, this route marks the start of services to Tanzania for the nation's largest city of Dar Es Salaam. Launching with a Boeing 757-200, this route begins on May 24th, 2002, in conjunction with the route to Antananarivo. There are plans to convert this route to a daily 737-800.

 

St. Petersburg - 21 weekly (Su M Tu W Th F Sa) - St. Petersburg is the fourth Russian route served by Egyptian Airways. This route is operated by two daily 757-200s and one daily 737-800. Connecting Cairo with the city of Russia's "old glory", this route is effective starting June 1st, 2002.

 

In addition, the following Egyptian Airways destinations will be launched in the near future:

 

Lyon - [commences June 15th, 2002]

 

Yaounde - [commences June 24th, 2002]

 

Dubai - [commences August 3rd, 2002]

 

Abu Dhabi - [commences August 20th, 2002]

Dubai will be started with 757s and upgraded to an A330, and Abu Dhabi will operate with 757s.
