Here's a basic guide on how to start out.

  • Start in a semi-major airport like FRA, ORY or ARN
  • Choose short haul routes with a at least 300 demand for economy.
  • Choose a short ranged aircraft that has been on the market for a long time like B737 Family or the A320 Family.
  • Lease a few of them, and configure all the seats to economy class.
  • Create very basic IFE and IFS which have a rating of about 2 stars.
  • Try to avoid routes which have more than twice the seats on the market than the demand.
  • Also avoid routes with competitors which have prices set to less than 70% of the default price.
  • Try to find gold mines where none of the rules above are violated. eg. I found ATL- CDG and FRA - AMS All are major airports, but there isn't much competition.
  • Avoid immensely popular airports like LHR.
  • Lower prices to beat competitors.
  • Once you have slightly more money, lease a few A332s and operate medium-haul flights with better IFE and IFS as well as First and Business class, applying the same rules as above.

How do I assign an IFE to an a/c?

Once you have it created, go to the page where you make seat configs. Select the plane you want to make a comfig for and make it. After the seats are configured, there will be an option to add IFE to it.

It's a pretty stupid system which took me forever to figure out. :P

Here's my guide:

  • buy all families of aircraft, leave them idle if can't assign
  • keep all routes at 100% load factor
  • if any route drop below 100%, find out who came in last
  • dump all your idle aircraft on all his routes with $1 fare, even if in red
  • fill up all $1 routes until you can't get 100% load factor
  • when he shutdown his airline, reset price and cut frequency

Are his awards for being being a total a*se. Remember people like him stop others wanting to play, give up go elsewhere. Remember less people less advertising clicks etc. As is often quoted on AE, this really is the real world. Spamline = less money.
