Fuel flow per engine?

Is the listed fuel flow when you look at an aircraft per engine or aircraft total?  I would expect aircraft total but it is listed under "engine information" so unsure.

 

e.g. 747-400 with RB211-524G fuel flow = 71,920.  But is the aircraft 71,920 or 4 x 71,920?

 

Also there are no units, is it mass burnt / distance (e.g. kg/km or lb/mile) or mass burnt / time (in which case you need to take account of speed to work out fuel burnt during a trip)?

Its the whole plane, not sure about the unit, think its over time but not sure about this one

You multiply the fuel flow by the amount of engines

Are you saying that the A340 uses DOUBLE the fuel of an A330, i am sure that is impossible, and also A340 is popular in this game for its low fuel flow, not double fuel flow...

I always assumed it was for the aircraft itself. As for the unit, lb per hour.

The fuel flow listed is for the whole plane.

The A340 (especially the -200/300) has lower fuel flow in the game than it should, but that's a separate issue.

Well, if it wasn't possible, and it was per engine, then ANY 4-engined aircraft would be all but useless as EVERYONE would run for a twin-engine to literally HALVE fuel costs :/

I think it is whole aircraft, and fuel flow is pounds per hour.
