I have had some money for a time and I feel like it is safe to invest in FS, so I am entering the world of payware.
However, I'm not sure what to get.

I'm not that interested in medium to long haul jets ( 757 and beyond) and I am kind of avoiding airbus.
What would you suggest?

Umm, good cheap payware MD-11s...

I only know of the PMDG MD-11 ($80+)

If you wanted a 757, I'd suggest the Qualitywings model

And since you're flying for jetBlue I'd possibly suggest the Wilco E-Jets model.

I was *seconds* away from purchasing the captain sim 767, but y'all told me it sucked so I refrained.

 

I am purchasing the Airbus X Extended. I have a JetBlue discount and it will get the package down to $33.60 which is really really really nice.

You guys gave it good reviews and I'm waiting for the discount code to arrive and start the download

The Aerosoft X A320 has been an absolute nightmare for me. Tons of errors, installation problems, and impossible to fly.

It appears my engine lighting strategy of hitting every light on the overhead accidentally caused me to drain all hydraulic fluid.

My Aerosoft X A320 never worked and the planes were intact but no systems worked and it wouldn't even move.

You guys really need to check out Air Daily X. It's a great resource for the flight sim community.

You guys must be doing something wrong, I have the Aerosoft A320 and it works absolutely perfectly, and I've had no problems at all with it. Obviously it's not exactly idiot proof, but if you enable the checklists and copilot on the first officers MCDU it's pretty hard to really **** up.

Airbus Extended X are the best, you might just press the wrong buttons, it's not for junior player.
