A Malaysian Airlines 777-200ER has crashed in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border, carrying 295 passengers and crew. The Airliner was on route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam.

More news to come as the story evolves.

I think it is a coincidence. MH17 was shot down by Ukraine, TWA800 was blown up.

Ukranian Airspace was actually closed from 3 days earlier. But the plane still flew from there...

Ukranian Airspace was actually closed from 3 days earlier. But the plane still flew from there...

This airspace was NOT restricted at the time.

The aircraft is claimed to have been shot down by BUK russian missiles which the Pro-Russian separatists have hold of.

These were found directly under the flight path were the aircraft lost contact.

This was confirmed by Ukrainian officials.

I'll be giving a live data stream of any confirmations on my twitter @KJS607

Not that im with the russians but the missile thrower hasnt been confirmed yet. The US government said that they would use equipment to verify the missile thrower. Ill count on the info of that. I'm sorry to say this but this could be the second part of the cold war.

This is horrible! Its pretty amazing how the two largest aviation crashes this year are both with the same airline! :P But, who in their right mind would fly an aircraft over such an area, when though it wasn't officially restricted at the time. It was only a few days ago that a transporter cargo plane got shot down, if a commercial plane was to fly over the area it is inevitable that it could be mistaken for a military plane :/

Damn. All my condolences to the passengers and crew as well as their families. This is not MAS's year with two major crashes, and with the same aircraft type. I feel bad also for the owners of the airline. They must be in some serious headaches.

I don't believe Ukraine have B772 sized planes in their air force. These Russian separatists just have hell on their minds.

That's bs. This could have happened (if it was Shot Down) to any airliner... KLM. Easyjet, Ryan Air etc..

We cannot blame Malaysia if it was actually shot down! which now seems like it was, thanks to USA Satellites.
