JAT Yugoslav Airlines is pleased to announce its biggest step in fleet renewal. Today, JAT leased 12 brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The new state of art aircraft will replace airline's ageing fleet of Boeing 727-200 aircraft. The first 737-800 aircraft will also feature new configuration with more business class seats than 727. This will be the third 737 family aircraft in JAT's fleet, with ten 737-300's and a single 737-400.
Last year, the airline began its fleet renewal introducing three new Fokker 100 aircraft. JAT also made an order for four Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft for its Balkans routes and became type's launch customer. In next few years airline will also retire its single DC-10 aircraft, more than 20 years old, and introduce new long haul airliners.
JAT Yugoslav Airlines has a 67% market share with more than 11 million passengers last year at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and will continue opening new routes in years to come.
