DUB Dublin Airport

Dreolín HQ

6 August 1992

Good evening,

Dreolín has today announced they have finished negotiations with GPA Leasing over a 10 year contract for 2 Boeing 757-200s. The aircraft were repossessed after a short spell with a defunct Indonesian airline and were quickly leased in. The aircraft, EI-LZQ and EI-LXR, now fly:

  • From Cork to Boston 4 weekly
  • From Shannon to Boston 3 weekly
  • From Cork to New York (JFK) 4 weekly
  • From Shannon to New York (JFK) 3 weekly
  • From Cork to Bilbao 5 weekly

The aircraft have been introduced in a 12C 168Y configuration and in the traditional blue of Dreolín. Although these aircraft are just 1 year old, questions have been raised over whether or not Dreolín will keep these aircraft past 1996, when the first Airbus A330-300 will arrive. CEO Evin Hakeson has stated "These 757s are a brilliant move for this airline, still in its infancy. We must remind you that these A330s which are only a proposal cannot and would not take off at Cork Airport. What I will say is that fares start at IE£350 from Shannon to New York, if you're looking at Transatlantic flights, go for either American Aqualantic or Dreolín! Thank you."
