Hello! i was wondering, are Boeing's or Airbus's better. Currently i have 13 Boeing 737-600's, 2 767-200ER, 1 757-200 and 1 787-8. I was thinking if i should buy or replace them with Airbus planes. I am operating from Helsinki-Vantaa.

The A320s are much better than 737s imo. I can do the calculations

OK, I did the Maths. These are the bottom 5 and top 5 (measured in lb of fuel burnt per 100 miles):
Best:
5. B737-800 - 18.08lb
4. B737-600 - 17.42lb
3. B737-900ER - 17.2lb
2. A319-100 - 17.1lb
1. A319-100LR - 16.1lb
(Judging from the unit price of the A319LR and B739ER, I declare the A319-100 to be king.
Worst:
5. B737-700ER - 22.76lb
4. B737-200Adv - 24.3lb
3. B737-100 - 25.9lb
2. B737-700C - 26.37lb
1. B737-200 - 27.64lb
(Bear in mind these are an earlier time period)
PS. Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but the Q400NextGen burns 9.7lb...

For me, I have always found that Boeing are better than Airbus especially when it comes the seating capacity versus fuel burn. While the A319-100LR are the most fuel effiecant, the Boeing 737-900ER can carry more passengers on only a slightly higher fuel burn.

A319LR are one of the best
A330-300 and A340-300 are the best widebody aircraft in the game

Although B777-300, B747-8i and A380 have better fuel efficiency, they are too big for most market, especially the one in helsinki

For widebody: 777-300>340-300>330-330>340-200>340-300E=777-200>747-400=777-200ER

A319LR/A319/737-900ER are best narrowbodies, 777-300/340-300/380-800 are best widebodies before 2010.

Given that 787s are available, A350-900R and A321NEO are super when they become available.

For game purposes though, isn't it smarter to go with just one family of aircraft due to lower maintenance costs? Kinda like Southwest and JetBlue do it?

Have a look at the maintenance tab in Finances. You can see the base cost for each family of aircraft. There's no sharing between different Boeing families (for example), so there's no advantage to getting, say, 737s because you fly 747s - unless you want to, of course.

There is an advantage in having more than one aircraft of each family, if you have any at all, because that way the base maintenance will be split between more planes. Generally it's possible to at least cover the maintenance with the profit from a single plane but even at best it'll eat up a large chunk of the profit.

The bigger the aircraft, the higher the maintenance cost are, so stick with less type of aircraft will cost you around $3 million less cost for narrowbody and around $6-$10 millions less for wide-body, so choose wisely, and most airlines in real life even only buy aircraft from 1 manufacturer, like Iberia and Aer Lingus for instance.

Both are equal. Buy whatever you find prettiest. (For example A320 + B757 + A330/340 + 747-8)

Take a mix as follows,

Airbus A319 is more profitable than Boeing 737-700

Airbus A320 is more profitable than Boeing 737-800.

Airbus A321neo is less profitable than Boeing 737-900ER

Airbus A330-200 is less profitable than Boeing 767-400ER

Boeing 767-200ER is not competed by Airbus

Airbus A350-800 is less profitable than Boeing 787-8

Airbus A350-900R is more profitable than Boeing 787-9

Boeing 787-10 is not competed by Airbus

Boeing 747-400 is not competed by Airbus

Boeing 747-8I is too much of a step up in price from -400. For 42 million dollars extra, go for the A380.
