When I first saw this picture I thought that an accident occured. Turns out, Aeroflot were just burning one of their IL-96 to the ground
And this is the aftermath.

Wow! They are a pretty crazy.
Oh well, it's a Russian aircraft so I'm sure it's used to having smoke coming from it - though surprisingly in this case everywhere but the engines.

Do they get Insurance money out of this? I mean the scrap value wasn't that low that they have to make money out of Insurance scam isn't it?

Well since we don't have resources that stated that this accident was on purpose, we still can't said that this was on purpose in the first place, so the money from insurance would still flowing
They sometimes do use retiring aircraft as live training for fire crews, it's a very fruitful and enriching experience for the fire crews so it's actually very good of Aeroflot for doing this exercise.
A bit dangerous too, no?
I first saw the pic and shook my head and thought "Russian insurance scheme"
Russians are good at committing acts of insurance fraud
