Should the ussr not have a restriction on american and european aircraft types up untill 1992 as they did in real life

Although this is good for the realism side of AE and would be quite cool, it is not the best for the freedom of players, after all the restrictions between the two hindered the growth of airlines especially those based in Eastern Europe and it would cut a large percent of links that people like to fly on AE :P

There are plenty of Russian aircraft that are the same operating size and fuel consumption as western models e.g. boeing 727-200 and tu-154

Plus this would help the excessive speed of growth that many airlines have

But looking towards the larger aircraft with better range - they are uneconomical for most

An idea I had, rather than outright bans, was to apply an insane import tax. That way a soviet airline could get a 737, but for the same price they'd get 2-3 TU-154.

You get my vote in this idea.

I remember the old 16-bit airline game Aerobiz Supersonic has airplane restrictions like this. To me it added flavor and strategy to the game.

I say have open worlds stay the way they are now and have realistic worlds with some sort of restriction.

Nominally, one could probably get away with allowing western aircraft in 1989, rather than 1992, however. Aircraft were (to my knowledge) removed from export-bans in recognition of glasnot.

i think it should be banned untill 1989 and high import tax from 1989 untill 1992
