This is my first time playing in an S world. I am trying to find out how some of these things work now.

I am happy with what I am doing but when I see that the top airline has 35 planes and almost the same number on order I wonder how that works. I do know they that can not cheat but how does this work?

I could not sell that many bonds even if I wanted and with the lead time of planes I have no idea how they can do this.

Thanks

I'd like to know too. I was doing well in the beginners world, so thought I'd try this and I'm lost.

I feel I am doing fine it is just confusing why others are so far ahead at this stage of the game.

The trick is likely this

  1. Underserver a big route, have like x1 weekly service with 13 Y pax when demand is 2000.
  2. Increase ticket prices, you can go as high as tripple sometimes.
  3. ????
  4. Profit!

Its more pronounced in the no lease world, but would work just as well early on in a leasing world.   Maybe even better,  cause leases are way cheaper.

That said, its a marathon, not a sprint.  Just grow naturally and focus on consistent profit.

The previously ranked #1 player has shutdown his airlines, obviously there are serious flaws in this strategy ...

Would also suggest stick to one aircraft type until you have more than 10 aircraft. If you don't maintenance costs are crippling. Scam IFS also helps build up capital quicker.

Clearly if the player is ranked #1, it can't be that flawed. More often than not, the shutting down of airlines can be attributed to lack of spare time to care for airlines.

Ya, the skyrocket up then quit when dealing with route invasion gets difficult.  Super scam routes are always my #1 route to put more normal service on.

The world is still in its first year. I have never seen any airline who is #1 in the first month stays #1 to the end of the game.

Look at #1 Miranda Airways in world S1.
Flies to 312 destinations with 166 planes

Then #2 is Aero Eage, files to 43 destinations with 114 planes.

Notice the difference in the ratio of destinations to planes? and that's compared to the second most valuable airline.

I see.  So it's better to have many destinations and charge higher fare than having a few destinations and saturating the route..

"Better" is really up to you and what kind of airline you want to sim.  It is worth pointing out that due to the one terminal limit, leased gates are a much more valuable commodity than other worlds, so there is a definite strategy involving gates and destinations...

If that's true, Monarch should have done better than Eagle already.

Valuation is extremely dependent on how many downpayments you've made on future leases...

iquit...what you have done so far is impressive...
