The title pretty much explains it all, but I will get into more detail.

On Wednesday, my family and I are traveling to Honolulu for spring break.  It starts with a flight from LAS-LAX and then a flight from LAX-HNL.  But there's a catch.  We're nonrev passengers since my dad is a flight attendant for Delta.  Some info below.

Flight 611

The morning flight served by a 767-300ER.  It's the refurbished plane with seatback entertainment and flatbed seats.  The BusinessElite seat comes with power and USB while economy provides just USB (I think).

Everything Else

All other flights are served by the darn 757.  One is a -200 model with no seatback entertainment.  Two others are ex-Northwest 757-300 aircraft without entertainment (again).

First, don't travel on any airline between the US and Hawaii unless it's Hawaiian themselves. Everyone else will give you shitted up service, a US standard.

 

Second, bring entertainment. You're going to be bored.

First, don't travel on any airline between the US and Hawaii unless it's Hawaiian themselves. Everyone else will give you shitted up service, a US standard.

Well, Delta's still a nice airline (which is kind of biased since I fly them 90% of the time).  However, Hawaiian sounds nice.  Free meal service, even in Economy.

Now, entertainment.  My sister and I uses an old iPad 2, but it works nicely.  I also have an iPhone, which is nice.  Plus, if things go well, there might be seatback entertainment.

And I'm not sure if a seat will be able to fit in a cramped aircraft.

The 757 certainly looks beautiful on the outside and inside.  Unfortunately, Delta uses the 757 without entertainment.

Just bring a book or play on your iPhone. Drawing or writing also helps

Wait, I meant to say without seatback entertainment.  The 757s on Delta have drop-down screens.  They still suck, but they're better than nothing.

British charter 757s from the UK - Greece and Turkey... and you moan about a Delta 757 D: (Granted you'll be in the air an hour longer, but the seat pitch is also 2-3 inches greater D: )

or just bring some tranquilizer so you could get some sleep

...and if all else fails recline your seat (whatever pitch it's set at) and close your eyes, the time will pass...besides the flight is actually faster going from the Mainland U.S. to Hawai'i (Tailwinds) than it is going from Hawai'i to the Mainland U.S. (Headwinds).

You have to pay for internet passes.  Even if you do, I don't think there's wi-fi on flights to Hawaii.

On the 767, there's lie-flat seats, so I may recline to the "relax" position.  But the economy recline is okay.

And thanks for the fact.  But last time we arrived at LAX nearly an hour early from Honolulu.  Strange.

It seems that those of you who live in the US are amazed by the fact that airlines provide free AVOD entertainment, free hot meals in all classes, and other things.

Fly Singapore Airlines the other day on CGK-SIN, on B777-300, get full hot meals and lots of wine wine for 1.5 hour
