For many years, our Airline Empires community has been home to many aviation and train enthusiasts. However, the latter group has found itself confined to our Real World Surface Transportation forum, diverting their creative energy to build magnificent rail networks in games like OpenTTD. Nevertheless, AE’s focus on commercial aviation inevitably excludes our railfans from full participation, and this social divide has become untenable.
Today, we proudly announce that in addition to passenger aircraft, AE will feature trains as a means of transport. You can now start a high-speed railway company and compete head-to-head with the airlines. You can take air passengers and deliver them to their final destinations. You can even build a rail hub at a large international airport and codeshare rail destinations with airline partners. Hundreds of different locomotives will be available for your venture, from the Big Boy steam engine to the Transrapid maglev train and everything in between.
This exciting addition to the game also means it’s time for a brand refresh: effective immediately, Airline Empires (AE) will now be known as AirTrain Empires (ATE).

Too bad chat spoiled the entire concept of you april fools joking your entire community yesterday evening. 
This was a serious project we've been working on, however once we got to the early alpha phase we realized that it's very buggy and horribly balanced, so we decided to release it as an April Fools joke... 4 years of wasted time 
AE4 will have to be delayed until 2200....
