Is there any penalty (loss of money) for aircraft sitting unused?

It might seem like a stupid question, but I was just wondering...because it so happens that I can only check AE every 18 hours or so (in the evenings) so...

I didn't notice a loss of money when I left it sitting for three or so weeks.

While I am not certain of all the financial hits of letting planes sit idle, I do know that at minimum, you will start paying the monthly maintenance charges.

What you can do is project what time it is that you will be online again, then defer your deliveries until about that time.  That way, the planes don't get delivered until you are able to route them.

Well, you also need to pay wages. Having a few idles is fine imo.

When idle you pay the staffing charges, maint fees, AND the aircraft lease payment. HOWEVER you wont notice a difference in income until about a month or so. The difference will depend on your fleet size and how many of your aircraft are grounded not makeing money (ex: Fleet size 100, if 20 are grounded for a period of time (month or so) there will be a difference. Please note it takes a period of time to see the difference.

We have a fleet of just over 2,000, and about 370 to 380 are sitting idle.
