Metro Link Japan is delighted to announce the publishing of its new route map, the map will allow ease of use for all customers on the new Metro system that has opened earlier this year (2000)

Metro Link Japan has a standardized rolling stock of Type 7050 EMU's running in 4 car pairings with the capacity of 480 passengers on the unit, these trains are registered as 40XX when running on the Metro Line and can reach top speeds of 111Kmh meaning journey times can be a seemingless 35 minutes from Narashino to the Minito Interchange.

 

One way ticket prices on the Metro system are as follows:

 

One Zone     ¥428.20

Two  Zones   ¥599.50

Three Zones ¥770.80

Four Zones   ¥942.00

 

A day saver for all of these fares will cost an extra  ¥171 and allow all day travel in the given zone for the ticket holder, to supplement this, children under the age of 5 can use the system for free

Under 16s can acquire a Swoosh Card which allows all day travel on all services within the region for only ¥205.50, to use your Swoosh Card you must place it against the card validator to purchase your ticket and then check in and out at each station you use using the validator gates.

After receiving an investment of ¥42819255000 from the Japanese central government Metro Link is proud to announce the opening of the new Red line serving all stations from Meguro to Kawagoe using the new standardized rail class across the whole network, the Japanese 1000 2 Type Metro train. However unlike the conventional stock the trains on the Red Line will run in a 8 car formation to provide a capacity of 980 passengers, catering for the high demand into Tokyo and the suburbs.

As part of the Metro Link masterplan all of the previous stock has been replaced by the new Japanese 1000 2 Type Metro train these trains will run in 4 car pairings on the Yellow and Green line and in a 8 car pairing on the Red Line.

 

 

The new Red Line opening has also lead to a new ticket zone being introduced, meaning that a new fare is available, the Five Zone ticket which will be priced at ¥1113.30 for a single or for a DaySaver for ¥1284.30.

 

 

Also Metro Link have announced a smart card scheme expanding on from the Swoosh Card, the new card will be available to all passengers across the range board, and will be divided by the following factors; amount of Zones and age group. These cards will be a annual pass only and will not work on other carriers unless stated in cards terms and conditions. The Swoosh card will remain the same however all subscribers will have the option to receive the newly designed Swoosh Card; The prices are as follows;

 

Swoosh Under 16 Card: ¥171 per day or ¥60 for a single fare

 

Swoosh Over 16 Card (365 days)

  • 1 Zone:¥8200
  • 2 Zones:¥15500
  • 3 Zones:¥ 218500
  • 4 Zones:¥281000
  • 5 Zones:¥343200

*1Swoosh over 60 Card*(365 days)

  • 1 Zone:¥78200
  • 2 Zones:¥11220
  • 3 Zones:¥ 198500
  • 4 Zones:¥244100
  • 5 Zones:¥293200

* Cannot be used during peak times - full fares apply.

In other news on the 26th of April 2014 there was a pantograph failure on Metro Train 4006, all passengers on-board this train and those who were directly effected are asked to contact Metro Link Customer Services with a copy of their ticket or smart card number to receive a refund.

The expansion of the Green Line has opened today at the cost of ¥479575656 (Aprox £28M)
 
The line now expands further from the origional terminus at Ota  to Yokohama where passengers can now connect to all regional and local rail services as well as having the option of using 5 interlining stations, opening up the Metro network to almost three hundred and twenty thousand people. The new line will path the way for several new trains to be introduced onto the line at an increased frequency of 5 trains per hour.

Another development today for Metro Link is the opening of the new Red Line expansion, opening 13 new stations to passenger services and utilizing and electrifying an old freight branch line.

To cope with demand on this line there will be a terminating service at peak times between Toda and Kasukabe, with up to 6 extra services supplementing the every 8 minute frequency of the line.

I haven't actually noticed XD however I will make them visible for future screenshots
