Hey

I am just wondering is there anyway to know the maintenance cost and base cost before leasing the aircraft?

and BTW, is there any FAQ or topic in the forum that has answers for new players? instead of asking so many questions here

Thanks!

There's no way to know as far as I know. You just have to see for yourself. You could always message someone with that aircraft though :P

It's gonna take so long to do that. I didn't expect the 737-300 needs a different base than 737-700 so now I paid 2.6M more for that

anyways, thank you again and for being always helpful :D

Well while they are both 737s, they are not technically in the same family. If you look at the "Order New Aircraft" page you might see (depending on the year) that the 737-300 is in the 737 "Classic" family and the 737-700 is in the"Next Generation" family. That's just one way to help. Try to keep to one family (even within the 737 umbrella) and it saves fortunes

A useful way that I created is either: Multiply aircraft price x0.05, or divide by 20. :P I'm surprised not many people figured that one out.

Well there is a very simple formula that tells you which aircraft makes the most gross profit (tickets + IFS revenue — fuel etc.) but it doesn't take maintenance, depreciation and price into account. If anyone here is really good at maths I'll try to help them... (There's no way I could do it on my own).
Anyway, the best planes going by the original formula are 737-800, A320-100 (yes the -100 and not the -200), 757-200 and ill have to re-check the long haul aircraft because I don't remember off the top of my head

It's surely not as simple as that... Like Russian planes are generally much worse than American planes for maintenance but the price ratio isn't the same...

for medium haul i prefer the 777-300 and the a340-300 or -200 for longer range. later around 2007 i choose the a380 for long medium and short hauls. ;)  :D

Sorry, that's for base cost. I haven't figured out specific planes yet. I might try. :P
