Not all airlines renew thier aircraft regularly. Ryanair was running 737-200's into the 2000's. Bad example, but the point stands.
well they push the boundries and therefore do not count

Boeing 737-200s were produced until 1988. These could have been 15 years old. Aer Arann still fly ATR 42-300s and Delta fly DC 9-50s, which are 35 years old.

1) It's unreliable
2) I'm lazy when it comes to that stuff

As long as these planes are maintained, they can still fly. My coastguard helicopter was 52 years old when it was replaced..... in September 2013. Granted, the DC 9-50s and the S-61 probably got new everything over the years (engine, technology, computers).
But in ae most of these changes are not factored in once you get up to 1980 or so so we are lazy and do not replace the fleet.
Ye...no. No. I do believe 787s came out after 1980. And A350s. And 737s. And tons of other aircraft.... so necessary changes are there after 1980. And, if you want to be realistic you can get the new aircraft
AS I said at the start, I update every 10 years if I can. In the last R0 I started with Viscounts in 1955. In 2030 these were EMB 175s or Boeing 737s. That is progress. In between, I had the Trident, 1-11, An-24, ATP, CRJ 200 and EMB 170.

That's what I'm trying to do with the quality(ish)lines. R D runs to 2030 so that'll be fun (replacing aircraft with the same model again)
wow
