Also the Washington Metro rapid transit which also serves the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. I make regular trips on these to get to around the area.

Here in Greece we don't have the best railway system, actually I think it's one of the worst in Europe if you consider countries like Italy, UK, France etc. Most trains now have Air-con which is great....
Anyway here's a pic of Athens' "intercity" train that ends up in the airport.

And here are two of the most iconic trains in the greek railway system are being used in the Athens-Thessaloniki route. I've never travelled with them since you can take a flight from ATH to SKG that lasts 30-45 minutes with an A320, plus the train takes around 5 hours.
