Pity Ireland has no proper commuter rail (apart from about 3 miles in the Dublin area).

Proper? You've obviously never been on the Rosslare - Dublin line. Get this:

  • 1:45 from Wexford to Bray
  • 0:45 from Bray to Dublin Connolly
  • Stop at red lights constantly waiting for the DART to leave the station that Intercities don't stop at
  • Only 2 lines

XD ! But DART goes to Connolly and Luas links Heuston Station with DART services. Would I be right in saying that?

DART goes Greystones - Malahide via Connolly but it really slows the train down. They look nice though :)

Yes they don't look too bad in fairness. I've only been on the DART about 10 times and twice was last September for the All Ireland XD !

I rode the Houston METRORail once years ago when it was still fairly new, but haven't had a need to ride it since. I don't go downtown much and that's the only place they run.

I've also rode the Monorail at Disney World if that counts  :P (In the front car, by the driver!!)

and of course the monorails at Orlando Airport... and the ones formerly at Miami International :P

The Dirtiest Metro was by far Brussels, and New York in close second.

Zurich, Dusseldorf and Washington were one of the better systems (Except Washington DC's Metro's price... $4.50 from Georgetown to Pentagon City is ridiculous)  :P

My list is pretty short, but:

- Oslo Metro

- Oslo Trams

- Trondheim Trams

- Bangkok BTS

- Bangkok MRT

But I'm only 13, so I hope that list will be longer when I get older  :P
