I'll look into that, now I am free of distractionsI started an aircraft requests topic with a whole bunch of pre-1930's aircraft. Im sure this could be done

Don't overlook flight data for Zeppelins......we can't overlook the Zeppelin aspect of the game. ;-)
Deutsche Luftschiffahrts-Aktiengesellschaft began passenger service in 1910 and by 1913 had established a route network between Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Baden-Oos, Berlin-Johannisthal, Gotha, Hamburg, Dresden and Leipzig.
They started trans-Atlantic service in Sept. 1928.

I think this would be a great idea as this was when airlines where starting to come around and most of today's modern airlines started. The only main problem would be airports, such as Denver, DIA is new and back then it would have been Staple-ton. Then again even in the 1955 world DIA would not have existed so I guess it does not really matter.

It would be fun to have a really old world but the situation was way different way back then so before starting an old world, it would be wise to add the following features:
* Allow stopovers as airliners before didn't have the range and airlines did that to cross continents/oceans
* Dynamic demand numbers
* Opening/closing dates for airports so they don't fly to Chep Lap Kok in the 60's
* Dynamic figures on how much people are willing to pay. In the 1910's and 1920's, people are willing to pay hundreds of thousands for a ride on a plane unlike today where 5 bucks is for flight on an LCC.
I know the biggest obstacle is data gathering so an old world in AE3 is near impossible, AE4 probably and AE5 even better.

The biggest problem with older world is small plane = more gates being used = lots of airport with 0 gate. So watch out for yo' slots.

There are worse gate problems in large worlds than in R0The biggest problem with older world is small plane = more gates being used = lots of airport with 0 gate. So watch out for yo' slots.

That doesn't stop people flying to Narita before it was opened
Or London City before 1985.

Also it would be problem with WW2 happening around that time. The dynamic would be too extreme to operate Commercial Airlines. I mean, the Data collector need to remove JFK and EWR airport because they haven't been built in 1919. It would be heavily modified world.

Yeah 1919 world is more or less impossible considering all the border changes from that aswell as all the data you'd have to collect.

You need to research all the active commercial airports, and their names. Although I support the "dawn of airlines" idea, you have to take into effect that there wasn't much to start with at "the dawn."
AE is the best.

At this very early part of Aviation History, the most efficient and economical plane would be the Douglas DC-3. It has the largest seating capacity and the longest range than any other aircraft during that time.
The problem is that for sure players would all select Douglas DC-3 as their fleet and other planes like Lockheed would be disregarded.
I would also add that Douglas can make at most 1 plane a week, so you can also add limits such as Douglas can also only make 10 planes a week, also you could add airships, which would be interesting, also others have said about data collection, turn to the community.
