As a new player, I'm curious as to where the initial numbers for passenger demand are derived from.
It seems like real-life hubs tend to have more passenger demand in the simulation too, but in a sim those cities wouldn't necessarily be so important and not have near as much air traffic. For instance, in the simulation CLT seems to be a popular destination from just about anywhere, but in reality most of those flights are US Airways layovers. (No offense to Charlotte, but I just never hear anyone say "I'd love to visit Charlotte, NC this summer.")
So basically, are the initial numbers the simulation pulls data from coming from "real-life" passenger demands or are they based upon the things like population, corporations, tourists, et. al.?
Hope I'm making sense here. Thanks guys.
