AE 4 has finally lost to the PMDG 777 in release timeframe, but maybe this can tide everyone over until 2040 :D

A Beautiful Rip-off.

A very beautiful rip-off. Looks almost realistic!

$90 just for a virtual piece of metal?

I have to agree with this point here though, I am not paying $90 so I can fly a bunch of pixels across my screen.

PMDG is by far the best add-on manufacturer for aircrafts in FSX, Their NGXs are just amazing, I think that this one is even better than the 737NGX series of PMDG. However, It isn't it worth it because 90EUR for just one add-on is a bit expensive in my opinion.

He is getting a torrent version of it when available. (I think)

And yeah why pay 90 bucks when you can download it for free? XD

A very beautiful rip-off. Looks almost realistic!

I have to agree with this point here though, I am not paying $90 so I can fly a bunch of pixels across my screen.

Why pay for video games so you can shoot a bunch of pixels across your screen? Why spend hours upon hours playing AE to see a bunch of tables on your screen? If you see flight simulation as "flying a bunch of pixels across your screen," clearly you are not the intended audience. As far as hobbies go, FS (with payware scenery and aircraft) is not that expensive.

As I see it, there are people who just want to press Ctrl-E and blast off into the skies. For them, freeware aircraft are perfectly fine, and they'd probably find these payware models too complicated for them. However, many people who do enjoy/want full systems simulation, going through the proper checklists, setting up the FMC, and so on when flight simming are happy to pay for it (and the development effort associated with creating these experiences).

I've used $35 payware aircraft and the $70 PMDG 737 NGX, and I have to say the latter is worth every penny, even over the cheaper alternatives (of which there are few for the 777 in FSX). If I had a capable computer with me at the moment, I'd be flying the new 777 right now instead of typing out this post. :P

My father's apparently having a blast with this "$90 ripoff" back home, and I'm starting to get that FS withdrawl itch again. But yeah, beyond looking gorgeous, it's about as close to simulating all of the 777's systems as you possibly can, which I think brings it up to the full $90. Also, if you torrent something from a small developer (like PMDG) that makes exceptional products, you are a ****ing asswipe and deserve to die.

Also, I must again beg the question, why does Hendrex/Hawaiian insist on being such an awful person?

I can admit I have on several occasions torrented software from several FS developers, but if I am satisfied with the products I will always buy them afterward. Since the desktop I have is not very powerful, oftentimes pay-ware aircraft simply will not run on the computer. Since most of these makers do not offer demo's, I use torrents as a way of making sure that the product runs at reasonable speeds before buying it. But I will state again, I will always buy the product afterward if it works well and I enjoy it.

But yes, saying it's not worth $90 and then immediately torrenting it is rather disgusting, and you should all be ashamed. If you were a small developer who had just spend 2 years of his life painstakingly researching and building a product, you probably would be rather mad if people were stealing your product.

On the other hand EA can go **** themselves and torrent from them all you like.

You, sir, clearly nailed me :D

Though, there is a great freeware 707 panel which HAS to be started from cold and dark or you are stuffed
