Last month it revealed the Northeastern parts of CO, West Kansas, and parts of NE were under consideration of making their new state "North Colorado".

Economically, Demographically, and Socially would you think North Colorado would survive?

What are your thought on this?

Ummm. No. Not possible. The only states that actually have the economical ability to break up would be Texas and California. The US government would have to, if I'm not mistaken, approve the succession of a state from another state... Smaller states would create a higher federal tax burden on the government... Meaning more money going to more places... More states would need to be propped up... tiny little state would just create more bureaucracy and lead to tons of Liberal and Conservative safe havens worst than they are now and possibly an increased risk of Gerrymandering for unfair federal elections... A system thats already screwed up do to a winner takes all approach.

Here is some more information regarding various secessionist efforts in the United States:

http://io9.com/59230...e-united-states

As a child more than 1970s I remember seeing a little pamphlet/newspaper in a small mom and pop store.
The story on the cover was regarding efforts to found "Illiindmich"; which was the mass secession of Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. They would break away and join together to form a new country.

Obviously, nothing ever came of it.

Short of a mass collapse of society and civil order, the US is not breaking up any time soon.

As a Texan, I'm well familiar with the succession efforts having been around some as a child.

But succession from the US is not what this is about as much as succession of parts of one state to either merge into a new state, or to merge with an existing state which is legal in the US.
