Now here's a weird one:

Have you ever considered releasing a single player version of Airline Empires, playable (and hosted) locally on PC? That'd save you lots of bandwidth from those players who just want to sandbox around and don't fancy competition, or who would rather play in a more realistic fashion regarding  pax capacity, without immediately being crushed by route spammers.

I'd buy it in an instant :)

Well, personally, I'd pay, dunno about you guys. Don't forget that a proper adaptation would consume development time, money, coffee, pizzas, ... ;) and the dev guys are probably more than busy with AE4 right now. However, setting up a PHP server manually and juggling with script files should't be that much of a hassle either... humm.

That would be great! I think releasing a download for a small price would be fun and bring in a small income for the AE developers to support them in their quest to finish AE4!

This has been suggested many times before and has been rejected by admin every time. For the forseeable future, I cannot see this happening due to the need of a huge amount of server space and high cost.

The point wasn't for AE to host an individual world for every single player, but to let everybody host their own world. On their local machine, at home.

You know, it could work, however there may be issues with I guess licence because some people just will copy the files.

I've got a huge official Microsoft manual on integrating PHP into C# on my desk, but it should be even easier to have some kind of "sandbox" browser offline and have it distro'ed to run only the files and have the files unexportable except game saves (LOL?)

I don't really get it though. Are there gonna be a world with no airlines except yours?

Yeah I just don't really get it. The world be empty and he would always get 100% occupancy because he got no competition. It's a bit pointless isn't it?

There would have to be a computer ai running competing airlines.

That is probably the biggest challenge to this getting off the ground.

What is S3B ?

It's a small world, 100 airlines only and very light on competition.
