You're probably going to say no, but......pleeeeeeease????? Newmans would love to operate Antarctic flights (for sightseeing and freight/research moving operations, seeing as the military doesn't exist in AE :-) ). Tourists wouldn't be allowed out of the aircraft though (for environmental/ health & safety reasons)

This is interesting, as it's a very unusual request I will have to leave this up to a senior data collector

I need to check whether airports can be added with just an ICAO code because I think you need to have one for it to be added.

Well, the Antarctic isn't a country... So shouldn't that particular one be in New Zealand?

IATA codes are required.

well French Polynesia and New Caledonia aren't technically countries either. Anyhow, just give it the NZ flag, seeing as the kiwis have claimed it, just like what ae has done with TNM which has been given the chilean flag

It can't be added as it doesn't have an IATA code.

Could ICE be used? Or is a *real* IATA code needed?

imo, ZWD would be more appropriate than ICE.

Creating a fake IATA code seems more than sufficient, even using a character like * or % could ensure the code is completely unique.

I think declining an airport simply because it doesn't have an arbitrary code is unnecessary, we should be looking to create solutions, not to be constrained by minor limits.

I am not allowed to add an airport in game if it does not have an IATA code, it is not accepted into the database. If I make one up it is likely that there is an airport that may be needed to added in game that already has that IATA code, which means that the airport that you want added would end up being removed.

Make one up, ensure it's not already in use by looking at gcmap.

If an airport's not on GCMap, it's unlikely to ever be added to AE.

Airport is in GCmap; and no, there is no aiport in GCmap using ICE as IATA code.

The problem I'd rather see is the passenger number of the airport.

You're probably going to say no, but......pleeeeeeease????? You said yourself: about 5500 ppa.
Why would one add another 5000 tourists to that number? And it is uncommon for AE to factor in the cargo transported.

Well, the 5500 extra is those who would normally travel to the Antarctic via the military...http://www.christchu...-the-antarctic/

Makes it more viable for ops too :)
