The title is pretty self explanatory. I was just curious as only two airlines in S1 use the MD-83.

Last RDelta I had a total of something like 350 MD-82s and -83s almost evenly split between the two. Must be runway, because I know the MD-83 can't make it into DCA by a measure of something like 10 feet.

The MD-83 would have gone out of production within 4/5 years of S1 startsing, twinned with its high fuel flow. Plus, they would cost $56m and who makes that in 4 years?

Well actually, there are some exceptions. The A320s and 737s would be better value and when it comes to replacement... The plane people will get bonds for though is the CL-44.

Agreed. I like the look and I do make good money with them. With that being said, I have 80 738s on order so with time I will replace them unfortunately.

Well, for some reason I've never really gone for and MDs or just Douglases( bar DC-7s) but I'm not really sure why. When looking for one I generally go for the Tupolev 154. The Soviet version, I suppose.

See I know little about the Tupolevs so I have never considered them. I am so used to flying on MD80s, as I fly American Airlines a lot, so I have a feeling that is in part why I have chosen them over an A320 or a Tupolev 154.

Well, I'm Irish so I never really even knew about them until AE... Believe it or not. I only really knew much about Boeing, Airbus, ATR and manufacturers like these.
