Gameplay date is currently 2004. I have just opened a 2nd hub in PRG and am finding myself unable to fly to various places due to 'political restrictions' that, as far as I can remember, went out with the fall of the 'Iron Curtain.' Example, routes such as PRG-TIA, PRG-BEG, PRG-LED, etc. are all encountering the 'Political Reasons' message. I believe this is in error? Can someone check or clarify why this should be so? E.g., CSA flew to KIV from PRG long before 2004. Just wondering as it is sort of cramping my style...  :/

Erm, sorry people - I meant S4!

I have two hubs, one in TLS (the opening, so I guess that's my HQ?) and one in PRG. Newbie who defected from Airline Mogul and still getting my skates on. Be gentle with me...  XD

Your HQ is in France, so you can't open route to outside Eropean Union from outside France.

See the wiki : http://wiki.airline-...al_restrictions

Thanks for that. That is a really stupid rule. What is the purpose of this rule? Open skies have existed in numerous forms since the late 1990s worldwide. While I realize this is a sandbox, it is very limiting and not at all realistic, actually totally disappointing.  And like Kitty and the others in her 'get started' thread say, who reads the Wiki anyway?   :disgusted:  Now I guess I'll go dump my intercontinental a/c and pay the penalties and hope I don't go belly-up. Reaaaallly dumb rule and counter-intuitive to a 'sandbox.' Love the fact that anyone can fly to the EU but the EU cannot fly anywhere else. ))Walks off fuming((

Again, thanks for your answer.  :D

the sandbox world is more of a world which still carries the usual R-World Political Restrictions but with heaps of starting cash as opposed to a world where you can run an airline where you can run every single route possible in game. If you want to do that, an O-World is your friend.

But yeah, S2 isn't sandbox, S4 is.

'Tis realistic ;)

Not that AE is really realistic, but as arpaca said, go for the sandbox world first ;)
