Not certain if this has been mentioned, but....
I was playing in the "No Leasing" World & had the #3 & #4 airlines.
I ceased ops on both. Why?
When opening a route, especially @ the start of this world, I did exactly what a player should do...max the fares & avoid competition & pick high demand routes & do everything possible to buy aircraft/increase capacity.
However, I found a pricing flaw that makes no sense.
Here is an example...
I open a route between A-B that has demand @ like 2030 daily seats. My aircraft has like 10C/150Y & when I start the route the "fixed" pricing is like $603C/$330Y. So, I start to max out pricing & the result is something like $1550C/$341Y...& if I go $1 higher on the Y to $342 I get 99% capacity, $2 more 98% capacity etc-etc-etc. Basically that is that, $341Y = 100% capacity & the route is earning $170,000, Great!. But, I was wrong. I looked @ the pricing of a few other airlines & saw wildly high Y fares on routes that were identical & had no competition. So, I go back to the route I just mentioned & boost the Y price to $500 = 24% capacity. I then go up to $700 & it equals 100% capacity & the route is now making a $350,000 profit?!?!? Obviously I boosted the Y fares on all my routes & it worked, I was making $500,000K+ daily w/ 10 flights on an MD-83. My profits went through the roof.
Is this a bug? It has to be. Why would capacity drop if I go from $341Y to $343Y...then vanish to like 20% if I go to $500...but then go back to 100% if I go to $700-$800?
