Hi all,

I was wondering how the frequency rating is calculated & how relevant it is toward route reputation.  I had a flight from YVR (Vancouver) to YYC (Calgary) with 28 weekly frequencies (4 daily) & a pretty nice frequency rating (well up the bar in the green territory).  In a bid to try to make my airline somewhat more realistic & to increase capacity on this route, I decided to use a slightly smaller aircraft (CS100ER vs A319-100) & increase the frequencies to 63 per week (9 daily).  This is a bit more realistic as in real life between the two major carriers that fly this route, there are somewhere around 20-25 daily flights on this route.

Anyways, the pax are flying as the planes are full so there's not really a problem, although I did notice a significant drop in the frequency rating on that route.  I would have expected that increasing to 9 daily from 4 would give pax more options & therefore be considered better.  Is there any reason why the rating is lower & will this also be the case when the next version of the game comes out?

Thanks.

I have found that unless you max the route with equal seats to demand, more flights hurts your rating until you max the route. You will have green rating with 16-30 flights per week though. Once you pass the 30ish number, you wont see green again until you max the route.

The frequency thing does seem a bit glitched :/

Just ignore the frequency rating, infact all of the ratings as tbh they are pretty random and irrelevant, only rating you should care about is IFE & IFS

I swear that the IFE/IFS ratings were going to abandon the 12345 star system.

Thanks for the replies.

@2ndAcr:  I have maxed out the demand on that route.  I am the only carrier on that route & have the exact amounts of seats on market & route demand for C pax & I'm about 15% over demand for Y pax (but it's a route between two hubs, so I'm looking for a few connecting pax anyways).  The frequency rating really should be better I think...

Hey thanks buddy...  That really added a lot to the 5 year old conversation.  I really didn't feel that my question was answered until you added that pertinent bit of information.  Glad to see that stand up guys like you are around to help newbs like me.

Keep up the good work...

Frequency rating I believe helps reputation rating overall though. The reputation there will be green for 3 to 6 daily frequencies. After 6 if goes back to yellow until you run more of a shuttle service at over 10 daily frequencies, then back to green.
