And if you found out which one is "best" why would you then pick all of the three types???

 During expansion phase, just about anything that flies will be snapped up. After expansion phase comes what I call "competition phase" fighting for route market share etc. Then there is the upgrade phase, this goes on almost all game long anyway. Planes that were ordered snapped up during expansion are phased out and replaced, streamlining the fleet takes place.

If you want to expand at a huge rate you need as many aircraft as you can get. That's why I choose all 3 types. If you want I will do some maths and come back to tell you which is best.

Plane A makes $50. Plane B makes $40. Plane C makes $30. Using A + B + C gives me more profit than using only A.

Of course that's a toy example and there are more complicated costs to consider, but in principle there's no reason to limit yourself to the single most profitable business activity.

I actually remember once attempting to be faster than someone else in buying used aircraft. A fleet of 80 747s had popped up and I wanted to lease them. I started first, so I got about 30, the other guy was then faster and bought most of the rest, until I refreshed and only leased the ones left, making me a bit faster than him.

Aren't the 737-200Adv. among the most efficient aircraft in game (especially during their production time)? They have a fuel flow per pax per distance that's better than the 73G and only slightly worse than the 73H (comparable effects in the other SA-familiestoo, bar the newest members).
