Anyone have any objections if we were to add a crew rest period in this game just like in real world?..i know that all airlines who have long haul routes have a rest period for their flights crews?

It would be nice to see the costs of two crews added to flights

I am against this I have to say.  This just cuts down the number of weekly flights you can operate and will cost more.

In the real world the crew rest period doesn't affect the number of flights that can be operated. He is talking about separate crews required on long haul flights, not crew rest on ground which wouldn't affect the number of weekly flights that can be operated, all you need is a separate crew to fly the plane back. Yes this would make things cost more but that cost is minute compared to what we are able to make in AE, so I'm backing this.

I think this is a wonderful idea, might slow down expansion somewhat if your finances go down the toilet due to having way too much crew to keep flying your planes non-stop.

I love the idea but how do we draw the lines? In Europe it's around 32 hours a week per pilot, in Africa there is none? So how will we do this

I think it just depends on the rules and regulation imposed on airlines in their own registered country. This may be a good idea but I think that this would not be prioritized for AE4, possibly when we go down into the details that it would be implemented.

Due to the lack of timetabling, there are a lot of very unrealistic efficiencies like crew scheduling and gate scheduling/usage that make costs in AE much lower than they should be. This should be incorporated into crew headcount requirements in the future.
