Hi everyone,

I'm sorry if it has been discussed before but I'm new around here and I have only read differing opinions on the IFS and IFE systems.  Currently I have a basic IFE system on my aircraft which seems to be costing quite a bit per flight, is there any benefit? Would I be better off offering the IFE for a fee or would IFS be a better option?

Thank you very much,

(I currently have x1 A320-200 & x1 A300-600 if that makes a difference)

IFE's only real advantage is to boost the reputation of your routes. I usually only add it when I've got a healthy bank account and my routes have stabilized.

The first thing I do when starting an airline is build 5-star, no-cost IFE. Don't know why. Must be a habit. It has never hurt my bottom line.

It gives you the ability to charge higher prices without losing loadfactor, especially if you use it with 4 or 5 star IFS, which is currently what I do, although it did cost me 20% of my DOP.
