See PDF, in attachement.

I was used to buy the A320 because it was a lot cheaper than the 738 and because it had a lower fuel consumption.

However after my cost analyses I realized the 738 has almost the same fuel burn with 9 seats extra !.

Oke, in the start fase of your airline the higher purchase price is unwanted, however if cash isn't a problem the 738 brings in more money!...and the value after 10 year is higher with the boeing, so purchase price should not be an indicator of choosing between both types.

While I don't agree 100% with your last statement, this test and comparison is quite nice to see. :) I hadn't expected the 9 seats to be able to offset the higher fuel burn.

All true, other than, no offence, your grammar and vocabulary needs some improvement. Anyway, the indicator between both types if money isn't an issue, to me, is the range and runway length required. I would very much prefer the A320 over the 738 just because of that because it makes it easier for me to open up routes and assign aircraft. For example, one airline I'm running, Air Formosa, has a single aisle fleet of A320 series and Bombardier CS300ERs, where I phased out my Boeing 737-800s in favor of A320s. However these doesn't really matter at all for airlines undergoing growth, they would just buy both to overcome slot restrictions. Good job by the way on your analysis on both aircraft!

DC-9 also looks cooler. The age means that in 2000, a fleet of DC-9s would cost as much as 2-3 A320 leases.

In conclusion, forgo A320 and 737NGs, buy DC-9s and 732s

1) other people may find newer aircraft cooler
2) that's why you buy Aircraft ;)

Keelung, did you mean:   "...this doesn't matter...", or "...these don't matter..."?  ;)
