Section 1: Airline Operations

1.1 Cabin Services: Cabin Service (commonly referred to as IFS in-game) standards for the alliance are high. IFS ratings are never to go below green (in-game). Generally, IFS is expected to meet the standards of an airline in RL. ScamIFS, though looked down upon, is allowed to be used in the first 5 years of the airline’s operation to give it a good cash flow. However, if an airline in Essor is reported to have ScamIFS for more than 5 years, the operating member will be given 48 hours to change it, or else the said airline will be temporarily kicked from the in-game alliance until further action is made. Again, IFS must be comparable to that of a RL quality airline on the respective route types/lengths.

1.2 Cabin Classes: The expectation for cabin classes on Essor member airlines are expected as follows: 1 class minimum for regional and short haul route segments, 2 class minimum on medium haul and long haul routes. However, long haul routes are highly recommended to contain a 3 class product. Exceptions can be made, but must be discussed with Essor administration.

1.3 Cabin Seating: Though realistic configurations will be provided, airlines do not have to use them. However, airlines must maintain quality legroom for its route type on all flights. This means following quality airlines in real life. There is no official minimum for legroom, however, if an airline is reported to have unrealistically tight legroom, the member must change it immediately to a configuration approved by admins and fellow members. Airlines are also expected to maintain a consistent product on flights of similar lengths. For example, if an airlines flies both a 777 and A340, similar legroom and IFE are expected. Essor Alliance does not allow “ScamSeating” or “Sardine Can” configurations, even at the start of an airline’s operation.

1.4 Cabin Entertainment: IFE is expected for all routes except regionals (under 1000 miles.) No ScamIFE is allowed at anytime, and IFE is recommended to a minimum of 3 stars. Personal video and audio on demand is a must for medium-long haul flights from 2000 onwards. Personal audio and video on demand is encouraged on short haul , but not a rule. Exceptions may be made, if discussed with the Essor administration.

1.5 Routes: Airlines are expected to keep the routes that they fly clean and realistic. This means that frequencies should be based on the route’s demand. You shall never flood a route. Essor administration expects that proper aircraft types will be used for the different route lengths. For example 777s should not be used on 500 mile regional hops. Routes are expected to be realistic, so routes that RL airlines operate or realistically viable ones. All airlines are expected to operate on the hub and spoke concept unless discussed with the administration and fellow alliance members who inquire. Point to point operation is also allowed for regional or domestic routes only.

1.6 Hubs: Airlines part of Essor alliance are expected to have at least one hub. Of course, if you are a flag carrier in say Australia, you will be expected to hub at more cities than say a small airline in Iceland or Panama. Hubs should be in realistic locations and have realistic sizes. A general rule of thumb , if a RL (Real Life) airline has a hub there, it’s generally allowed. So just think, would an airline hub here in real life? If an airline does have a hub there, it is suggested that you look at the size of the airlines hub. Don’t go too much over the size as the airline probably has the size right. For example, a hub should not be in Long Beach, USA if you are a national flag-carrier. However, if you operating a regional feeder or a smaller airline, it would be okay to hub or have your headquarters in Long Beach, USA. Since Essor is a quality and realistic alliance, the use of secondary airports for hubs will not be accepted unless an exception is made or reasons explained and agreed with. Airlines in Essor may not share hubs unless a special agreement has been made between the two parties.

Section 2: Member Practice

2.1 Forum Activity: All members are expected to be relatively active in the forums and chat. This means they must be in regular attendance in alliance discussions, conversations, and votes.

2.2 Member Behavior: Essor is a professional alliance, and members part of it should act accordingly. Always respect other people and their opinions. Do not troll, harass another member of AE, or post or discuss inappropriate content on chat.

2.3 Discipline: Members that do not follow the above guidelines are subject to discipline determined by the leaders (Everett and Lake.) Some examples of potential discipline include:

  • Warning from the administration. Members who are routinely warned are more likely to receive harsher disciplinary actions for other offences.
  • Temporary removal from alliance discussions and votes.
  • Kick from the alliance in-game for a period of time determined by the alliance administration.
  • Permanent kick from the alliance.
