Could you please add some form of data to that for passenger numbers, if that is not possible a good estimate would be helpful.

Dear All,

I have spent sometime looking into the airport data in Indonesia and I am pleased to say I have made quite a few changes to the passenger data, incorrect runway lengths, incorrect locations and other things such as new airports.

A lot of my data has come from this fantastic database (I know just about enough Bhasa Indonesia to navigate it and harvest the data we need): http://hubud.dephub.go.id/

Here is a list of what has changed:

  • CGK (Jakarta - Soekarno–Hatta): Passneger numbers increased from 47,647,377 (2011) to 57,772,762 (2012). A whopping 10%-ish jump in about a year!
  • SUB (Surabaya - Juanda): Passenger numbers increased from 13,778,287 (2011) to 16,390,912 (2012).
  • DPS (Denpasar Bali - Ngurah Rai): Passenger numbers increased from 12,780,563 (2011) to 14,175,580 (2012).
  • UPG (Makassar - Sultan Hasanuddin): Passenger numbers increased from 7,456,381 to 8,323,193 (2012). Added new 10,171ft/3,100m long runway (03/21).

There are more general updates coming soon. There are also two more complex updates:

MES (Medan - Polonia):

On July 25th of this year (2013) this Airport is due to close and be replaced by the new, Medan Kuala Namu International Airport. As Airline Empires does not simulate the opening/closing of airports the airport will retain the name "Medan - Polonia". However, we shall increase the runway length to that of the new airport - and continue to update Medan Polonia's passenger numbers with Medan Kuala Namu Airport's statistics. Henceforth the following has changed:

  • Runway length increased from 9,850ft (Polonia) to 12,303ft (Kuala Namu).
  • Passenger numbers increased from 7,170,107 to 7,991,914 (2012 data for Polonia).
  • Gates increased from 10 to 33 - the new capacity at Kuala Namu.

So yea, it's still called Polonia but is really now Kuala Namu. We have done this before - as some of you might know (Durban for example).

AMI (Mataram - Selaparang):

Mataram Airport has also been replaced by a new "Lombok International Airport". I have done the same with Mataram Selaparang as I have done with the new airport at Medan. Once again, the airport name and location stays the same; but passengers numbers, runway length and gates are from the newly built airport.

  • Runway Length increased from 6,853ft (Selaparang Airport) to 9,000ft (Lombok International Airport).
  • Passenger numbers increased from 1,676,921 (Selaparang) to 1,836,051 (2012 - Lombok International Airport).
  • Gate number increased from 9 to 10.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

There is still much much more to fix, update and add within Indonesia so this is just the start and the big irritating fiddly new airports. It will be a matter of time before I can declare the 2012 update and fixing for Indonesia complete, however this should certainly be progress - especially from the viewpoint of people operating international flights to the major airports.

Thanks,

-Tintinfan.

Maybe you should rename(and replace it's location) Polonia and Selaparang to Kualanamu and Lombok International Airport. Also change the IATA and ICAO codes.(Kualanamu keep using the Polonia ICAO code,WIMM while Polonia uses WIMK,but they replaced their IATA code to KNO. Lombok Intl were using different ICAO and IATA code. ICAO code for Lombok Intl is WADL and IATA code is LOP)

Because in AE there's no any airport closing/opening,it seems like you should applied that updates on new worlds.

  • Airport Name:  Kualanamu International Airport
  • ICAO Code:   WIMM
  • IATA Code:  KNO
  • Passenger Numbers: Unknown
  • Coordinates: 3°37'52"N   98°52'30"E
  • Runway length: 12,303 ft / 3750 m
  • Country: Indonesia
  • State/Region:  North Sumatera / Medan

For Passengers Numbers is unknown because the airport just opened on July 25th 2013 to change the poor Polonia Airport, and please delete the Polonia airport because Polonia airport is no longer operate anymore.

PS : Sorry for double post (I post at Asia Thread before) because I didn't look carefully.

As people have been requesting the new airports in other topics, I would like to point out what was done with Medan Kulala Namu/Polonia and Lombok's Mataram Airport/International Airport again below.

MES (Medan - Polonia):

As Airline Empires does not simulate the opening/closing of airports the airport will retain the name "Medan - Polonia". So yes, it's still called Polonia but is really now Kuala Namu. We have done this before - as some of you might know (Durban for example).

  • Gate number increased from 9 to 10.

Thank you.
