Lol today i leased a concorde on ae and had 23,000,000. I payed my deposit and everything then i couldn't put it on a route it didn't show up so i terminated the lease now i'm -$181,000,000 i'll clear it in 181 days approx coz i make 960,000 a day. I posted this to advise people not to lease a concorde unless they have over 181,000,000 or what to buy it.

I think everyone knows that concorde are a waste of time and money. Just look at the fuel flow on it. Also in reality it was only profitable as everyone wanted to joy of flying faster than sound, on ae you don't get reactions like that so concordes just drain money off an airline.

Or it could just be the fact that the runways were too small to handle the Concorde Even a 100ft difference is too big for any plane to fly or not from a runway of a certain length

Stay away from every supersonic plane in the game. They are sure fire ways to bankruptcy. Concorde only made money because the charged 6,000+ bucks a ticket. Try that in game and you will get toasted for real.

6000 is also before inflation.
Speed to ticket value needs to be factored into the game.

Imagine all the Concords that would be in use in AE if the ticket prices reflected the speed aspect. Im sure many airlines would be using the Concord.

Well, the Concorde isn't a sure bankruptcy factor. I've managed to fly the Concorde without going bankrupt, even making a (low) Profit off it (until the competition flooded the route). And it's great for saying " hey, my airline's flying the concorde " .

If the Concorde was a profitable aircraft at 6000 currency units (Dollars, Euros, or whatever for where you are) most airlines would be super-mega gigantic airlines that cover the globe. Also, if Pax were actually reactive and got nervous when a Tupolev taxis up to their gate instead of an Airbus, airlines could be different as well.

I did briefly run Concorde's at a profit, but found that replacing them with 767s lead to far higher profits. My Concords now run at a steady loss of $150,000 per day each. Concorde would make a bit more sense if the fuel flow was based on cruising, and it could operate lightly loaded from shorter runway lengths.
