Hey everyone! I started this topic because Im wondering, if I dont replace my old fleet.. is that bad? I have 60 727s that are old in my fleet and I dont know what to do with them.. Plus like 17 737-200s and 15 DC-10-30s.. The oldest plane I have is 24 years old (and its a 727).. Is that bad?

Maintenance costs go up as an aircraft ages, so if I were you, I would replace the older aircraft with a newer and more fuel-efficient aircraft when one comes out. That's just my opinion, though.

Ermm... No. If you want near equal size your options are A320 or Boeing 737-800.
Which one you choose depends mostly on personal preference.

I have probably over 120 727s in my fleet that are over 23 years old. The great majority of make more money per month than their actual value right now.

Aircraft Age: 25 years
Aircraft Value: $3,044,113
Maintenance (Monthly): $282,634
Net Profit (Monthly): $5,842,246

Given I only need to make $11,776 daily to cover maintenance costs, it's reasonable to assume there is no need for me to replace them for the rest of the round.

Although this is not the suggestions section, I think that there should be an additional economical disadvantage in maintenance cost and fuel consumption in additional to the existing one let's say a step every 5 years. Naturally for the first five years that would be very low ( I was thinking something like 5%, 15% 35% 65% 100% 150% of the starting maintenance cost and 0% 5% 15% 30% 50% 75% for the fuel consumptions from five to 30 years age). That could force air fleet renewal especially in extreme cases, like mine for example where I still have cl 44 on 1994 (which i replace just because i find it is just... not right) which still are really profitable! In real life i believe no one would accept to fly with this plane anymore. that also could balance the by plane profits when the crew bug will be fixed (I hope very soon) and the profits by plane will be considerably increased.
